Privacy policy

Local-first. Clear by design.

This Privacy Policy explains how BikeLab handles information when you use the app.

Effective September 3, 2026

BikeLab does not require an account. Your core garage data is local-first unless you deliberately export, share, or enable private provider sync through storage you control.

01

Summary

BikeLab does not require an account.

Your motorcycle profiles, measurements, setup notes, photos, ride recordings, and reports are stored locally first. BikeLab does not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking, and we do not sell your personal information.

Optional BikeLab Pro private sync uses your own iCloud private database on iOS or a cloud folder you choose on Android. BikeLab does not require a BikeLab account.

Limited purchase information is processed by Apple and IAPKit when you purchase or restore BikeLab Pro.

02

Information Stored on Your Device

Depending on the features you use, BikeLab may store motorcycle profile details; measurements and saved tool results; setup notes and preferences; selected or captured motorcycle photos; motion, speed, calibration, and ride-analysis data; location coordinates when optional route storage is enabled; dashboard configuration and app settings; and local purchase entitlement and tool-usage information.

This information remains on your device unless you deliberately export or share it, or enable optional private provider sync.

BikeLab does not provide a BikeLab-hosted account or remote garage-data service.

03

Device Permissions

BikeLab requests permissions only when they are needed for a feature.

Camera

Camera access may be used for guided motorcycle measurements, headlight aim, suspension measurement assistance, and motorcycle photos.

Camera frames used by guided measurement tools are processed on the device. BikeLab does not upload camera images to us.

Photos

Photo-library access is used only to let you select motorcycle photos. Selected photos are copied into BikeLab's local storage.

Motion and Fitness

Motion sensors may be used for suspension measurement assistance, motorcycle ride analysis, and estimated launch timing.

Location

Location access is used by ride tools to obtain timestamped speed and accuracy information.

Ride tools may retain timestamped route coordinates locally when they are needed for a saved result, map, or replay.

Background location may be used while an active ride or launch session is recording, including when the app is minimized or the device is locked. BikeLab does not use location for advertising or tracking.

You can revoke camera, photo, motion, or location permission at any time through iOS Settings. Features that require a revoked permission may become unavailable, but manual tools remain available where supported.

04

Portable Archives and Private Provider Sync

BikeLab can export a complete portable archive that you choose where to store or share. An archive can contain motorcycle profiles, measurements, services, ride results, media references, history, and app configuration.

If you enable BikeLab Pro private sync on iOS, synchronized BikeLab data is stored through your own iCloud private database. On Android, you choose the cloud folder used for synchronization. BikeLab does not create a BikeLab account for either option.

Web uses portable archives and does not connect to private provider sync. The provider and destination you choose govern their own storage, security, retention, and privacy practices.

05

On-Device Suggestions

BikeLab includes an offline motorcycle catalog and, on supported devices, may use on-device intelligence to explain deterministic tool results and saved health reports.

These requests are processed on the device. BikeLab does not send the motorcycle information or tool-result facts used for these suggestions to us.

Generated explanations do not replace the original measurement, classification, warning, or recommendation and may be unavailable on unsupported devices.

06

Purchases

BikeLab offers optional in-app purchases through Apple's App Store.

Apple processes payments and payment-account information under Apple's own privacy policy. BikeLab does not receive or store your payment-card details.

To validate purchases, restore access, and determine whether BikeLab Pro is active, the app may send an App Store signed transaction or receipt, the purchased product identifier, purchase and subscription status, and an opaque app-specific identifier that is not your name or email address to IAPKit.

IAPKit may communicate with Apple's App Store services to verify the transaction. This information is used only for purchase processing, entitlement validation, restoration, fraud prevention, and related service operation.

IAPKit states that it processes transaction data needed for receipt validation and does not store personal payment details.

07

Exports and Sharing

BikeLab allows you to export a portable archive using the device sharing interface.

You choose where the exported file is sent. Once you share an archive with another application, cloud provider, or person, its handling is governed by that recipient's privacy practices.

Exported archives may contain motorcycle profiles, measurements, setup notes, media, service records, ride data, history, and app configuration. Review the destination before sharing.

08

Information You Send to Support

If you contact us for support, we may receive your email address and any information you include in your message.

Please do not send sensitive personal information, purchase receipts, location histories, or BikeLab backups unless we specifically ask for information needed to investigate your request.

Support correspondence is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, maintain support records, prevent abuse, or comply with legal obligations.

09

Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your information.

Information may be processed by Apple or Google for store purchases, operating-system permissions, and platform services; IAPKit and its infrastructure providers for purchase validation and entitlement management; or a private-sync, export, or sharing service you deliberately select.

We may also disclose information if required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, rights, or security.

10

Data Retention and Deletion

BikeLab's garage and measurement data remains on your device until you delete individual records, reset the app's local data, or uninstall the app.

You can delete locally stored garage and measurement data from BikeLab → Settings → Local Data → Reset App Data. You may export a backup before resetting the app.

Resetting app data does not cancel subscriptions, remove App Store purchase history, or erase records maintained by Apple or IAPKit for transaction validation. Purchase entitlement and usage information may be retained separately so purchases can be restored and included-use limits cannot be reset by deleting ordinary app data.

To manage or cancel a subscription, use iOS Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions.

For a privacy or deletion request concerning support correspondence or purchase data under our control, contact us using the address below. We may need limited transaction information to locate a purchase record. Apple-controlled purchase records must be managed through Apple.

11

Security

BikeLab uses the security protections provided by the operating system for local application storage and protected device permissions.

No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Keep your device protected and share exported backups only with trusted recipients.

12

Children's Privacy

BikeLab is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through a support request, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

13

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when BikeLab's features or data practices change.

The current version will be published at this URL with a revised effective date.
